The sun is shining, temperatures are heating up, and people are enjoying their oceans, waves and beaches. Celebrate the sunny season and all the work chapter member's have done by attending your local chapter's International Surfing Day (ISD) event! It's a swell time of year to get involved, learn about local water issues, and meet new people! Been absent from a chapter meeting or event of late? ISD is a great reason to jump back in and hear about what's been happening in a fun and social setting.

ISD is June 20th every year but chapters celebrate it on or around that date depending on what they have in store. Below is what is on the agenda along with dates and locations for ISD 2016.

Olympic Peninsula Chapter
The OPC ISD has become an anticipated event every year by those in Port Angeles and nearby communities. Featuring live music, art, raffle, delicious food, and tasty drinks, this family friendly event is always a great celebration. ISD will take place Friday, June 17th, from 6:30pm-9:30pm at Harbinger Winery in Port Angeles. Food will be dished up by local restaurant H2O with donations coming from local supporters such as Lib Tech and Todd Fisher Surf Art. Tickets are $20 a person and can be purchased at the event or ahead of time. For any questions related to the event or to purchase tickets please contact the chapter.

South Sound Chapter
For the second consecutive year, the South Sound Chapter will be incorporating a beach cleanup and thanks/celebration BBQ for ISD. The chapter will be hosting the event Saturday, June 18th, from 10am-1pm at Titlow Beach in Tacoma. Help make this highly-used beach a little cleaner and reward yourself with a feast following the cleanup courtesy of the chapter.

Seattle Chapter
The traditional Seattle Chapter ISD is set for June 22nd at Urban Surf running from 5:30pm-9pm. Bring your SUP and join others for a casual race around Lake Union. For those not looking to paddle, there will also be a cleanup across the street at Gas Works park led by the chapter. Stick around after the paddle race and cleanup for food, drink, and raffle.
