UPDATE: OFFSHORE DRILLING EVENTS CANCELLED FOR FEBRUARY 5

Written by bboland | Feb 5, 2018 3:21:28 AM
We learned today that the venue where the offshore drilling Public Meeting, press conference and Day of Action were to be held tomorrow, February 5th, has regrettably cancelled all events in that space. This means the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management Public Meeting will no longer take place tomorrow.

Thus, the People’s Hearing and Rally will be rescheduled so that we can hold those concurrently with the BOEM public meeting -- after all, our goal was to show the BOEM and the Trump administration our wide and popular opposition to oil drilling off the coast of Washington State. We will be in touch about the BOEM meeting and our People’s Hearing/rally rescheduled date as soon as we have that information.

Given this late notice, please help us spread the word of this cancellation to anyone you know who planned to attend.

The press conference will continue on Monday from 1-2pm, but due to the venue cancellation, there will not be room for public attendance. Please tune in to watch the press conference via the livestream here: https://www.facebook.com/StandUpToOil/videos/2027611667498271/

In the meantime, you can submit a written comment. Here is the comment link (https://www.regulations.gov/comment?D=BOEM-2017-0074-0001_) to submit a comment to BOEM on the issue of offshore drilling. Here is a cheat sheet for making a comment. (https://docs.google.com/d
