2016 WA Coastal Cleanup Set for April 23rd

The annual CoastSavers Earth Day cleanup is scheduled for April 23rd. With four Washington chapters taking part it's a great opportunity to spend a day, or the weekend, at your favorite coastal beach. Register via the link above or contact your chapter to see where they will be helping out and for more information.

Surfrider chapters have actively taken part in the coastal cleanup for years. With the Sound Sound chapter traditionally working at beaches around La Push, the Olympic Peninsula chapter BBQing and cleaning beaches in the Neah Bay area, to our Seattle chapter covering Westport, Surfrider volunteers have removed thousands of pounds of debris from our coastal beaches at this event alone. This year, the Surfrider contingent is expanding with the Capitol chapter getting in the mix by hosting the registration and barbecue in the Ocean Shores area. Please contact your local chapter for more details on the coastal cleanup or reach out to WA Field Manager Brice Boland for more information.

CoastSavers will also be hosting a fundraising event April 9th in Seattle featuring live music and a silent auction to generate more funding and enthusiasm for the cleanup. If you are looking for something to do that Saturday night consider this fun family event.
