The Plastic Free Washington / WA Sin Plástico Coalition hosted a successful Plastic Free Lobby Day on January 19th. Passionate humans from across the state, representing numerous organizations, all gathered on a cold, foggy morning in Olympia to advocate for policies to reduce litter, stop plastic pollution, and secure a healthier environment for future generations.
The District 22 team on the way to our first of two meetings with Olympia's electeds!
We were stoked to have some of the sponsors of our primary bills come speak to our delegations. Representative Stonier, primary sponsor of the bag bill, kicked off the event, and Senator Parshley, primary sponsor of the bottle bill, closed us out with a rousing speech in front of the legislative building. In between, over 50 volunteers and advocates held over 20 meetings with state representatives and senators from 22 districts.

Lobby Days are a fun way to connect with like-minded people as well as build relationships with our elected officials and elevate the issues that matter to us.
